Currents: Kaltuma Mohamed
This is the third and final episode of the Currents mini-series, a collection of interviews that have focused on how current events have affected the lives of scientists.
Give us your feedback on the mini-series, and let us know your comments about what you'd like to hear next! It's been a real pleasure working with Gabi on these episodes, and hope to have her back hosting more episodes soon.

Today I talked to Kaltuma Mohammed about her experiences in the United States as a Somali refugee, and about what got her interested in science. Currently, she is a post-baccalaureate student at Yale University in the Picciotto Lab, and is part of the Interdepartmental Neuroscience Program.
Along with some very funny anecdotes, we talked about her struggle acclimating to the United States, the importance of an education for her as a first-generation student, as well as her experience studying science so far.
